My manifesto for building.
Bypassing corporate bureaucracy to ship real, high-performance AI solutions that improve business and life.

March 2026
I started Montrose Labs because I watched too many good ideas die in committee.
From my early days at Meta to architecting massive Search systems, my experience deploying AI showed me exactly how much I could improve the life and the business of people by bypassing corporate bureaucracy and shipping real solutions. I've seen engineering teams spend months in "discovery", building PowerPoints instead of products, debating architecture instead of testing it, and hiring expensive consultants who leave behind slide decks and no working code.
Speed is not a nice-to-have. It is survival. In the time most agencies take to scope a project, I can have a working prototype in your hands.
Montrose Labs exists to build alongside founders, not around them. We don't believe in outsourcing critical technical momentum to siloed PMs or junior offshore teams. When you engage with our studio, you work directly with elite system architects who have spent their careers deploying production-grade AI models, containerized cloud infrastructure, and distributed databases.
1. Ship first, refine second.
A working prototype teaches you more than a 40-page requirements doc. I deliver first results in 1 week, not because I cut corners, but because I've done this enough times to know what matters.
2. Embed, don't outsource.
I don't work "for" you, I work "alongside" you. I join your Slack, attend your standups, and treat your product like my own. When the engagement ends, your team owns everything.
3. Stay close to the problem.
I named this studio after Montrose, the Houston neighborhood where independent thinkers have always done things differently. I chose to stay in Texas because I believe the best technology is built close to the people it serves.
4. No vendor lock-in.
Everything I build is designed to be maintained by your team after I leave. Clean code, comprehensive documentation, and knowledge transfer are non-negotiable.
